Pokémon Cards
Recently, Alu and I each purchased a deck of Pokémon cards. I've been mildly interested in them for years now and a trip to a local game shop so our roommate could get Warhammer minis resulted in us taking that plunge together.
I played the game a few times when it was first introduced in the late 90's, but it didn't really stick at the time. The fact that I was a small child probably didn't help. I don't know how complex the game was at the time, but I would be willing to bet the last 20 years have made it more so. Even so, it's much easier to grasp this time with my fully formed brain.
What's difficult to grasp is that I can't be spending all of my money on cards. We've had a problem with spending too much on cards before with Dice Masters, but at least this time we appear to actually be playing the game and so far we've only each bought the one deck, so hopefully we keep from going crazy this time.
This morning, I weighed 185 lbs
Yesterday, I ate
~ Two pancakes
~ A bit of egg and potato hash
~ A cup of spaghetti
~ A cup of Siggi's
~ A cup of apple cinnamon oatmeal
~ A grilled cheese sandwich
~ A small spinach salad
This generation of Pokémon introduced Alolan forms; new forms of older creatures, complete with typing changes, and one of my favorite additions was Alolan Sandshrew and Sandslash. I was disappointed to learn when I tried to train a competitive team that they, along with many of my other favorites, were not particularly well suited to competitive play. But I trained my team anyway, it being easier to do than ever before, and proceeded to battle exactly one person outside of Alucolor. I did fairly well, but lost before discovering that Alu had been texting me and was very cross that I had not answered.
So that wasn't the best experience.
Maybe I'll try starting anew and training a new team, Alolan Sandslash included, of course.
Take it easy!
