Report: Manchild Damages Household Appliances
It's official: my insistence on engaging in children's card games is damaging our house. For the last couple of weeks, our washer has been failing to drain properly, resulting in piles of suds and puddles of stagnant water in our laundry room. As our laundry equipment is rented, it was a simple matter of putting in a work order to have it looked at and the repair person was able to come today while Alu and I were at work.
At lunch, I received a voicemail to the effect of "Hello, we were able to fix the problem. As it turned out the pump draining the water was plugged. I don't know if you have children, but we found a Pokémon chip in the hose, so if you have children..." It was at this point that I understood the problem and so I exited my voicemail box chuckling and thinking "Oh good, I'm glad they were to find that metallic Empoleon coin that I, a 27 year old man, have been looking for since I lost it shortly after I received it from a new Imperial Command Pokémon TCG deck I, again, a 27 year old man, purchased not for my child (or for any other child, for that matter), but for myself but a month ago."
I feel the fact that, not only do I insist on putting the accent aigu over the e in Pokémon, but that I know off hand how to do so specifically for use in the word Pokémon, does little to help to solidify my maturity.
Perhaps I should learn to fix cars.
This morning, I weighed 183 lbs.
Yesterday, I ate:
~ Three small pancakes
~ A cup of Siggi's with dark chocolate granola
~ A can of tomato basil soup
~ A small baggie of carrots, dipped in peanut butter
~ Two cheesy bean and rice burritos from Taco Bell (which mistakenly featured lettuce, to the detriment of the product)
~ A cheese quesadilla (which thankfully contained no lettuce, but was rather light on the distinctive sauce Alu and I enjoy in them)
Hooray for no work tomorrow. Actually as far as I can remember, we don't really have any plans at all, so that should make for a good day. Hopefully at some point we'll be able to watch the Gundam AGE OVA that stands between us and completion of the series before Saturday, so we can move on to Turn A.
Take it easy!
