Flexibility and stability

I'm thinking about flexibility versus stability. I don't know that one is inherently better than the other, or to what degree they are mutually exclusive. At the very least, I think the answer to the latter part is "at least some," and that often gets to be obnoxious to me. Before Alu, I leaned heavily toward flexibility, but now it's more the other way. Things are often planned days or weeks in advance, and while that can be comfortable and helpful, it disallows us from indulging in any spur of the moment activities that may be cooked up by a different group of friends or what have you.
On the other hand, if we simply allowed ourselves to live entirely off the cuff, there's a good probability that things will either go off in an unpleasant direction or that nothing will end up happening at all.
Another thing about planning things ahead that's a bit of a double edged sword is that, when the time comes, I may end up not wanting to do thing. In which case, the plan unfolding might be a miserable experience, but the outcome is often necessary or at least desirable. Cleaning the house comes to mind. I understand that it can be important to have a planned day to tidy up the house, as waiting to do it until I feel like it probably just means things will just pile up, making it all the worse to deal with later, but that doesn't necessarily make me want to do it any more.
What a frustrating dichotomy.

This morning I weighed 184.1 lbs

Yesterday, I ate:
~ Three small pancakes
~ A handful of pan fried potatoes
~ A packet of pocky
~ An impossible burger
~ About half an order of fries

It should come as no surprise that Alu and I enjoy board games, and over the last couple of years, we've had a few ideas for games we could make. I think that would be something of a dream job if we could actually develop things that enough people would buy. Maybe it could help to have a day to work on making games after work.

Take it easy!
