Quarter-to-third-probably-of-the-way-through-life crisis
I need to actually do some voiceover stuff. At least put in a few auditions or something. Maybe put together a decent demo. I'm looking into getting some acoustic padding for the closet I record in and I think that will help a little. If nothing else, maybe it will help it feel a bit more like a studio and get me more motivated. I've been in a few things that have had a bit of exposure and I think I'm pretty decent at it, I just have no consistency. You know, like in every other aspect of my life.
To make matters more difficult, Alu and I need to start saving money harder, so I don't know if/when I'll be able to get that acoustic padding or anything else that might theoretically help me forward myself in voice acting. I mentioned earlier this week that we're not sure exactly what our plan is for our lives and we might end up having to stay at the job we're at now, but we're hoping that's not the case.
I emailed the school we'd go to for manual machining/welding/etc. courses asking for information about the length of the courses and the career viability of machining in particular. I've been reading that manual machining is on its way out as a career path and everyone now does CNC (computer numerical controlled) machining, which requires a greater understanding of programming, which I don't have and I don't know how long it would take to gain enough to move into CNC.
I won't hear anything back until at least Monday, since the person I was told to email is apparently out of the office for the time being, so that's a bit stressful. Maybe I should just look into learning the coding necessary for CNC on my own.
This morning I weighed 180.6 lbs.
Yesterday, I ate:
~ A plate of potato cubes and hash browns (I didn't realize tobasco sauce was just hot vinegar)
~ Two buttermilk pancakes with strawberry syrup
~ Several ginger cookies
~ An order of criss cut fries from Carl's Jr.
On a lighter note, I bought a mini waffle iron yesterday for ten dollars. It makes eggo-sized waffles and the instruction book has a bunch of recipes in it for things I never thought to try in a waffle iron, like cookies or mashed potato bites. Apparently you can just toss whatever in a waffle iron and make waffle shaped anything. So that's pretty neato.
Take it easy!
