Jobs and Diners
I've been in the same job for six years now. Alu and I work in a call center where we caption phone calls for hard of hearing clients who use a special phone with a screen. We basically type what we hear on one end of a conversation, and the words appear on their screen without them having to interact with us at all. As far as call center jobs go, it's nice because we don't actually have to talk to customers or, god forbid, cold call people, and it pays pretty decently for the type of work, but we have no particular interest in advancing here, so we're looking into other career options at the moment.
Something that's caught my attention in that regard for a while now is manual machining. From what I can gather, it's basically like woodworking, except with other materials like metal and plastic, which sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Though I assume we'd be starting out making piles of bedsprings or something, but I think the skillset could definitely lead into other things or at least be useful for building models or things like that, which we might be able to parlay into some kind of business. Who knows really?
This morning I weighed 190.5
Yesterday I ate:
~ A bowl and a half of vanilla chex
~ A few spoonfuls of chobani watermelon yogurt
~ A cinnamon toast eggo with butter
~ A pineapple fanta
~ Half of a seitan chicken sandwich
~ Half a serving of diced potatoes
~ An iced jasmine green tea
Yesterday we were taken to neat local restaurant called the Vertical Diner that specializes in vegan food. While we're not exactly vegan, it's a pretty safe direction for vegetarian as well as long as we're not dying for cheese or anything. It's good to be able to add to our list of places we can actually get something decent to eat instead of getting bits and pieces of menu items at Wendy's.
Take it easy!
