Wednesday Workouts

We have said in the past that we go swimming on Wednesdays but recently we have switched to lifting weights as it gets colder. We have been doing this mostly every Wednesday for the past little while. We even more recently decided to switch to free weights for two of the three weight lifting gym days we have. I was a little scared about it but I can see that it is better for you than using machines. It has been going well, we’ve gone twice now and are planning to go again tonight. It was much more tiring despite not using any weight to do the exercises. I think that will be good overall for us. But for now I will leave you with how much I weighed and what I ate. Today I weighed: 207.5 lbs Yesterday I ate: > An egg and potato breakfast  > About two cups pasta > A small baggies of carrots dipped in ranch > A bowl of honey bunches of oat Yesterday I drank: 81 oz of water If anyone is interested in the workouts we follow or the logs of what we lifted and how many...

Small Changes and Large Impacts

Every now and then Rok and I will realize how much our diet has changed. We'll eat a donut and think, maybe not another for a while. Or we'll take a lick of ice cream and not want to finish the rest of the cone massive cone. Or we will think about how we have gone down from using on average a big block of cheese, two loafs of bread and three boxes of pasta to using a small block of cheese one loaf of bread and one and a half boxes of pasta. Our diets are slowly getting better but I think the fact that it is so slow is going to help us keep the changes in the long run. Today I weighed: 208.1 lbs Yesterday I ate: > A partial bowl of Olive Garden fettuccine alfredo > A small bowl of salad from Olive Garden > The rest of the salad > The rest of the alfredo Yesterday I drank: 40ish oz of water I thought I gave too many examples of small changes but I could go on for a minute about the changes we've made without really noticing that we were making them. An...

Feeling down, man

I am feeling real down right now so this will probably be a shorter blog today. We went to take a test that took several hours that we apparently didn’t need to and basically told me I am dumb so that didn’t feel good. But we’ve also been invited to go to famous Dave’s for one of my aunts birthday, and as anyone who has read this blog a couple of times has probably picked up that we are vegetarian. So you know invite us to a barbecue place, sounds good. We looked over the menu and they have side dishes I guess without meat, but apparently they put bacon in everything so that’s cool. We don’t really want to go but one of my other aunts will be in town who lives far away so it’s a battle between being hungry and sad and being with family that I don’t get to see very often. I also keep worrying people are going to be rude to us as vegetarians in a steak house, so that isn’t helping us want to go. I don’t know if we will go or not, but if we do you’ll probably hear about it. Today I weig...

Fascinating Minutiae

A few years ago, I watched a gameplay demo for a new MMO (I think it was Black Desert Online, but who can remember?) which involved a very meticulously created female player character nimbly dispatching a large group of monsters or barbarians or something on a mountainside. Once the enemies were all taken care of, the character sauntered over to a ledge and sat down with her legs hanging down over the ledge. I was quite impressed by the animation, but quickly began wondering whether someone who was less familiar with video games would be similarly impressed. "Well of course," this theoretical person might think, "that's what would happen if a person sat like that on a ledge." While I'm well aware that that's what it looks like when a person sits on ledge that way, I'm also accutely aware that Mega Man can stand just as comfortably with both feet on solid ground as with one foot halfway off a ledge and the other hovering over the abyss. My point...

Gundam, but with like planes instead 10/25, I promise

I have a friend who's recently started watching Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans. He says he's been enjoying it, but as long as I've known him, he's had a problem with the Gundam franchise which, from what I can tell, is not altogether uncommon: he has a hard time suspending his disbelief in the viability of mobile suits. While this is not a problem I generally have, I can definitely see where he, and people like him, are coming from as I have definitely have experienced this to some degree when watching 08th MS Team. I think that's interesting, considering that's many people's favorite series, often lauded as being the most realistic, since it follows a normal military regiment as opposed to a Newtype main character and his (always his, but that's a topic for another time) supporting cast. This would be fine and could indeed be a very interesting idea if it wasn't so heavily predicated on guerilla warfare with 60 foot humanoid space tanks. For some r...

A foggy path toward a clear goal

Our goal is becoming clearer, now the problem is the route we take to get there. We talked to a career counselor about welding and machining and as it turns out, those are growth fields, so we should be fine once we finish whatever program we take first. What we can't quite figure out is what to do while we're in the course. We've considered staying at our full time jobs, but the resultant 60-hour week would be horrible. We've thought of trying to go down to part time, but I'm not very confident that we'll be able to without quitting for three months and coming back. We've thought about trying to get a different job for the duration but we're not sure what we'd be able to get. We've even considered just taking out a loan to live on for the few months we're in school. Honestly the last one is where I'm leaning as it would cut our current work week in half, which would give us more time to work on other goals as well. We could stream ...

Goal Reflection Day: October 15th-21st

Hello fellow kids I am here with some updated goals: Build my first PG Gunpla: Due 12/31/18 Second verse same as the first, I still have not made any work and I am slowly considering not painting my PG and calling it done. Weigh in under 200: Due 12/9/18 I got to 205 this month, then promptly gained 2 pounds back, but I am still hopeful that I will be able to get under 200 by my birthday, and hopefully I will stay under 200 indefinitely. Stream on Monday and Fridays: Ongoing Oh! Oh! We did this one! This Friday was even a super long Splatooween stream! Go Swimming on Wednesdays: Ongoing We were sick recently so we haven't made it to the gym in about a week or two, but we are getting over it and hopefully we will go back tomorrow. (To be honest with you though I think I have been using the sick as a crutch to not do things that I really should be fine doing.) Do yoga mornings: Ongoing See above goal ^ Today I weighed: 206.4 lbs Yesterday I ate: > A cou...

Am I a Reasonable Person? (Revisted)

A while ago I blogged asking the question "Am I a reasonable person?" I still don't know the answer but I think it is in the affirmative. I was thinking about this as I have been editing the Gods campaign for a new group, the campaign that was the vessel that got me to question in the first place. If you haven't read that blog, I basically bit off more than I could chew with one of our friend groups by trying to GM an advanced level group. Three of the five players had a very mentally taxing way of playing RPGs, which is valid in it's own and I don't want them to change their ways. But I am not a strong enough GM to handle three types like that, I don't know if I could even handle one. But anyway back to the point, because I couldn't handle the three of them I blew up when I shouldn't have. So fast forward a couple months and I have barely talked to any of them outside of saying "Hi", to the one that still works with us, in the halls. T...

Splatooween!

Hey guys today is going to be a bit shorter blog. Rok and I really enjoy playing Splatoon 2 and right now there is the monthly tradition of Splatfest. Where everyone teams up against each other and tries to win for the side the choose to be Superior. It's a good time, and this Splatfest they added so that you can play with only two people. Before you had to have a team of four otherwise you were playing on your own. So Rok and I are really excited to play together. We are also planning on streaming our involvement in the Splatfest so you can go to our twitch channel probably if you want to see sub par playing and bad commentary! Today I weighed: 205.7 lbs Yesterday I ate: > A bowl of Cheerios > A pineapple smoothie > A can of pineapple > Some bites of black bean burger > A bowl of pineapple stir fry Yesterday I drank 50ish? oz of water LONG LIVE PINEAPPLE THURSDAY!!! Stay Pineapple

Man I missed a blog

For the first time since I started to write on this blog I missed one yesterday. I feel bad about not putting anything out but Rok and I have been sick as of recent and I we were working out details for the campaign we are going to try and run together. On top of that I was also trying to look into dog breeds again, I have collected links for up to letter H of all the dog breeds I had the patience to collect. Rok suggested I sell the document for $1 on the Internet, I don't know if anyone would buy it but I have worked hard to get to H and I can't sop now mostly because pride. But sorry about not blogging again I will try better from now on. Today I weighed: 205 lbs Yesterday I ate: > A small bowl of Cheerios > A can of chili > A yogurt cup > Some bites of a black bean burger Wednesday I ate: > An egg sandwich > About 2 cups pasta > About 7ish carrot slices > Three double stuffed Oreos > An Amy’s meal chili mac Yesterday I drank: 32ish, a...

Dentist

I had to go to the dentist yesterday. It wasn't anything serious I just hadn't had a check up in about three years, since I moved out of my moms house. We got a more reasonable time for me than we did for Rok. Mine was 11:30 as apposed to 7:30. So it was a more rushed morning than normal but overall it was a pretty average morning. I do have follow up appointments because it has been several years since my last visit, but it's not all bad I didn't have to pay anything for this visit because insurance is good. I do have to make an appointment to get my wisdom teeth out though, but I don’t have any sick time accrued so that is pretty lame. We have gotten a lot better about actually taking care of our teeth which has helped a lot and will hopefully mean future dentist appointments will be just a cleaning and check up with no follow ups to repair my broken teeth. So anyway. Today I weighed: 207.3 lbs Yesterday I ate: > A bowl of Cheerios > A bowl of Ramen >...

Last Week

Rok didn't blog last week really but I will give him a pass for most of last week because of the mess that was our week. Monday was normal at the start, but it is easy to forget that it is now your week to blog so I can give him a pass for that. We also learned some weighty personal news near the end of the day, that I don't feel we need to share here. Tuesday he did post a pre-written draft, but didn't change anything he had written so that caused it to say that it was two Tuesdays ago (I think). Wednesday he doesn't really have an excuse, he really should have posted. Thursday I was feeling bad because of sick and he caught it a little bit. We were also both thinking about preparations for the football game we told my mom we would go to the next day, so he can have a pass for that day as well. Friday we had to clean my grandma's house who had was in part the reason for the heavy personal news we got on Monday. We got done cleaning at 1 and we were ...

Goal Reflection Day: Oct. 14

I've done a poor job of blogging this week. I posted on Tuesday, but apparently it showed up as having been posted last Tuesday. So that's obnoxious, especially since it's the only blog I've done this week. Go me. I haven't been doing very well in other aspects of life either, unfortunately. Let's go over those a bit, shall we? Weigh in at 179 lbs. I got close to this a few different times over the last few weeks, but that was always followed by a rebound. I'm still not too far, so I'll renew this goal for the next couple weeks. Re-record a demo reel I haven't done this either. I haven't even really worked on it all that much. I did some work on it last Friday, but that sort of fell apart when I realized I'm not sure what I want my demo to sound like. Again, I'll have to renew this goal. Call parents at least once a week I'm pretty sure I've called my mom, but I've never had much issue wi...

You. No you. Me? Us? Date?

It's odd to me how negatively people seem to look upon the way their children live. Having a job which consists primarily of listening to older people, "These kids don't know how good they have it," or some approximation of such is something I hear on an almost daily basis. I find this strange since, to me, that statement implies progress. Things are better than they used to be, at least on some level. Why is that a bad thing? Shouldn't you want your children to live as good a life as possible? Is it a form of envy? Are people who say that subconsciously resentful that they didn't get to grow up the way people are now? Is it simply a fear of change? Am I the one who's wrong for being okay with that change? I like to think not, but I don't imagine anyone likes being wrong. I do try to be more accepting of being incorrect when I learn something that's in opposition to what I think I know, but it can be difficult. I'm sure it doesn't help...

Goal Reflection Day: October 1st-7th

This week has been an uninteresting one, I am sorry for that. But here are some uninteresting goals to help with that! Build my first PG Gunpla: Due 12/31/18 This has not changed since last update. I want to practice with the air brush to get my skills up before I paint my suit. I also don't want to sand anymore. Weigh in under 200: Due 12/9/18  Over the past two weeks I have gone up and down in weight, ending in a slightly worse place then two weeks ago, but with determination I can still reach this goal. Stream on Monday and Fridays: Ongoing If I remember correctly we streamed these days! Go us! Go Swimming on Wednesdays: Ongoing We didn't quite make it there this last week, we really didn't do to good on the gym this week in general. I will try to do better these next two weeks. Do yoga mornings: Ongoing Nope, various excuses could be made but it is really on my for not doing it. Today I weighed: 209.9 lbs Yesterday I ate: > Overnight Oat...

Blogging Hardships

Rok and I aren’t interesting people as I am sure anyone who might happen upon one of our blogs can see. And sometimes we don’t want to blog because we have no idea what to blog about. Things don’t happen in our lives so we really have to stretch to try and get anything interesting out. And you may think that we don’t even do that. But we try to say our thoughts or tell about anything interesting but it often takes work and a lot of thought to write one blog. Meaning sometimes we don’t want to blog because we can’t think of anything and it is hard to think of something exciting when we don’t do things. I want to live a more adventurous life, but at the same time I want to sit and play video games all day. It is a very contradictory life I live. But I try and blog even if it isn’t interesting to anybody else or if I don’t really want to and can’t think of anything. I think this is mainly because Rok and I get really into things for a hot minute then abandon them completely. But I want t...

Busy Day Dude

Sorry for another short blog but a lot is going on, so here’s what I ate and how much I weigh. Today I weighed: 208.3 lbs Yesterday I ate: > About 30ish oz of pineapple smoothie > About two cups of pasta > About 10 slices of pineapple > A bowl of ramen Yesterday I drank: Some water Sorry again but it’s a busy day. Stay cool.

Gods, again

Recently we have brought up playing my gods campaign with just the roommates we leave with and everyone kept on saying it was cool. But yesterday made it sound like we will actually play this saturday sending me into a dizzy to do the revamping I kept meaning to but didn't have a reason or a want to do. So I have been focused on that most of the day so this is going to be a short blog so I I can continue my rushed prep. Today I weiged: 209.7 lbs Yesterday I ate: > Some scrambled egg > A black Bean Burger > A cup of yogurt > A packet of Dino Oatmeal > Half a plate of tots Yesterday I drank: A reasonable amount of water Anyway sorry for the short blog I gotta go stress about a game I am scared to run. So in my absence: Stay Cool.

Future Uncertainty

Rok and I have recently thought about getting a loan to go to a year course for welding. This loan would be used to let us quit our jobs and still pay rent and have money left over for food, our pets, gas and things like that. While not working for a year would be awesome and we could use the time to work on ourselves and the things we really want to do with our lives, there is always the uncertainty that we wouldn't have a job at the end of that year. And what if some huge expense happens that we didn't predict while we are jobless. There is also the question of moving, we want to move out of the current place we are living with roommates and move so it is just us. And I am not sure if the place we want to move would except us without a job, plus even if they let us in knowing about the student loan money for paying rent, we don't know how much the deposit will be or how much rent would go up with the move so we can't necessarily figure out an amount reasonable for the...

Dog Breeds and the Confusion That Entails

Recently I got bored at work and thought it would be fun to put together a spreadsheet about something dear to me, dogs. I thought it would be a small task. Just copy paste all the dog breads from one site and link them in a spreadsheet as a way to learn more about them with relative ease. I have been working on this spreadsheet for four days now and I have learned it is not as easy as previously thought. Every website I visited had a different list of "complete" dog breeds. I have cross filed at least four websites worth of dog data and am still finding breeds that others haven't listed. It is a tricky thing deciding which breed is different enough from which to deserve being called a different thing. I am now planning on just compiling the list more until I either got one or two websites in a row that don't add any new breeds to my current list or I give up out of frustration. It would be one thing if I could just copy and paste a straight up list of just dogs name...

Jeeves and Lettuce at a Different Time

Back here again to tell you about Jeeves and here yelling about lettuce. We have been trying to shift Jeeves lettuce time to 10 at night rather than 10 in the morning. But this has resulted in her screaming all day because we are doing a hard switch in times. Which in hindsight wasn't a great idea but it's been a couple days now and I fear the screaming will only increase if we start to feed her even a little bit of lettuce in the morning. Today I weighed: 208.5 lbs Yesterday I ate: > Egg with trees > 2 pieces of Village in french toast > 2 cups pasta > A yogurt cup > A chick'n waffle sandwich with salsa Yesterday I drank: 82ish oz of water Anyway that is my blog for today,  have a good. Stay cool.
