On Mattresses and Avoiding Them With Stimulants

I don't know that I understand my relationship with caffeine. Sometimes it helps me focus, sometimes half the amount I drank yesterday that helped me focus just makes me gross and jittery, sometimes it puts me to sleep. I think the difference may lie in whether I can find something to focus my energy on, but I'm really not sure. I've been given to understand that caffeine works differently on people with diagnosable ADHD, but it seems to work normally on me half the time and abnormally the other half. What I do know is that on the days it does help me focus, it makes work much more pleasant since my conscious attention is mostly taken up doing something with my hands while the back of my brain generally does my job for me, so it can be extremely beneficial and therefore often worth the risk.
In any case, coffee with some cream and sugar in it has grown on me in taste over the past year since we've started working earlier on Saturdays, so I'll have one every so often on that merit alone.
On an unrelated note, I've been thinking about mattresses recently. While the mattress that Alu and I sleep on now is perfectly fine, I've been looking forward to the day in the future when we can get a new bed that's not just a stack of mattresses that slides all over the place. A few years ago, I saw an ad for Purple mattresses in which, for some reason, a woman in a Swiss mountain girl outfit (I had forgotten that she's supposed to be Goldilocks, that makes the outfit make more sense) presents a series of glass sheets with eggs taped to them being dropped onto a series of mattresses and this ad, for some reason, held my attention for its duration.
The woman made a compelling case for Purple mattresses, so now when I think of mattresses, Purple is the first one that springs to mind (somewhat ironically, I suppose, given that it lacks springs... ha). It's almost as though that's exactly how an advertisement is supposed to function.
Go figure.

This morning, I weighed 176.5 lbs

Yesterday, I ate:
~ Five pancakes with peanut butter
~ Leftover cheesy pasta
~ Pumpkin oatmeal

I've heard it said a lot that one should invest in as high quality a mattress as one possibly can, since, theoretically, one spends so much time in bed. I have to say I agree with this idea wholeheartedly, but so far in life I haven't been in much of a position to supply my own mattress. It's exciting, then, to think that I'm actually starting to slowly get my life together enough where I might soon find myself in such a position. I think I have Alu to thank for that mostly. I really think we help focus each other.
Nice.

Take it easy!
